Being a Yooper???

I am wondering if all of the Yoopers up here are having some kind of withdrawal symptoms or going into shock....here is why..
1 - It is November 15th, opening day of deer season (gun season) and it was 50 degrees out today. My neighbors were raking their leaves today. Last year this time, they had over 3 feet of snow. No deer for my men today but hoping next weekend they will bag em and tag em. I was raking today too for a few minutes until I was interrupted by the Packer vs Lions game.
2 - Which bring me to number 2 - I should have stayed raking. Congratulations all of you Lions fans, who are now strutting and gloating...the Lions beat the Packers at Lambeau, first time in oh...24 years. Last time that happened, Bret Favre still played for the Falcons. So go ahead and gloat, yes we are on a 3 game loss and we just beat one of the bottom teams...hey, the sun shines on a dogs ass every once in a while. Are any Yoopers who read this going to stone me now because I am dissing on the Lions? LOL - they DESERVED to win today! Let's see, the Pack let one of their rookies run 104 yards for a touchdown. WHAT? Where were they today? NOT in Green Bay!!
3 - I can't think of a third one. Besides the fact that the weather is oddly warm for this time of year and the Lions won today....I think Yoopers are just confused today..not sure how to feel. :-)

I did stumble onto another great restaurant! The place inside the Ramada Inn - Harley's - has AMAZING food. They have a new chef and she is just awesome. Anyhow, we had the fish fry and the food was omg yum, it reminded me of home, being in Wisconsin again...the fish fry was great. The fish was fresh (from the local fish market that morning) and the batter was not rubbery. It was SO delicious! We had loaded waffle fries and mozzarella whips for appetizers and they were amazing as well, took most of those home. We were very satisfied with our choice to eat that night and plan on going back, maybe for Thanksgiving dinner! (As much as I love to cook, the thought of NOT preparing ALL of that food and cleaning it all up makes me so happy inside).

So - no deer today. No win for my Packers today. But it was beautiful outside!! I got two people crossed off my Christmas list - 2 of my besties!! A little tiny bit of raking done - and I saw a lot of heavy rain in the forecast in the next few days. UGH. Yes, I think I would rather have snow than all this rain.

Toys for Tots - my office for the Home Builders Association of the Upper Peninsula is taking Toys for Tots donations! Until December 15th! I have one month left and no toys in my toybox! I want to empty this baby like 3 times! Help me out - come down to 309 South Front street in Marquette - Suite 102 and bring an unwrapped new toy for Toys for Tots!

Lots of Love - Still not a Yooper - although if the weather stays like this, I may consider it!! On the Packer side of course!! :-)
